1 About Uns Chat

Uns Chat is a messaging application that lets you communicate with the people who matter to you.

Uns Chat is a messaging application available on iOS 14.0 and above. The app supports one-to-one messaging, group messaging, and channels. You can make voice and video calls, share photos, videos, files, and voice messages, and optionally discover contacts who already use the service. The service is powered by a self-hosted server architecture and delivered through the App Store.

2 Acceptance of these Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Uns Chat, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the service.

5 Account Security

You are responsible for safeguarding your password and all activity that occurs under your account. We strongly recommend using a unique, strong password for your Uns Chat account.

If you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account, you must notify us immediately at [SUPPORT_EMAIL]. We are not responsible for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized account use, though we will take reasonable steps to help secure your account once notified.

Your authentication credentials are stored securely on your device. If your device is lost or stolen, you should change your password to protect your account.

6 Acceptable Use

You agree to use Uns Chat only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe on the rights of others or restrict their use of the service. You must not:

use the service for any fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading purpose;
send spam, chain messages, or unsolicited bulk communications;
harass, threaten, bully, defame, or intimidate any person;
impersonate another person, group, or entity;
distribute malware, viruses, or any other harmful software;
engage in or promote any illegal activity through the service;
attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or network;
use the service to exploit, endanger, or harm minors in any way, including but not limited to child sexual exploitation material;
distribute or share non-consensual intimate imagery of any person;
infringe on the intellectual property rights of others, including copyright, trademark, or patent rights;
interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable burden on the service, its infrastructure, or the networks connected to it;
use automated tools (bots, scrapers, or similar) to access the service without our written permission.

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against anyone who violates these acceptable-use provisions, including suspension or termination of their account.

7 User Content

You retain full ownership of the messages, photos, videos, files, voice messages, and any other content you send, upload, or share through Uns Chat ("Your Content").

To operate the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, transmit, and display Your Content solely to deliver it to the recipients you designate. This license ends when you delete your content or your account, except to the extent that copies persist temporarily in backup systems or have already been delivered to other users.

You are solely responsible for the content you share. Content sent in one-to-one conversations is visible to the recipient. Content shared in groups or channels is visible to all participants of those conversations.

8 Messaging and Communications

Uns Chat provides real-time messaging, group and channel conversations, and voice and video calling. Text messages, media files, and voice notes are stored both on the server and locally on your device to enable synchronization and offline access.

Voice and video calls are conducted directly between participants. Call content is not stored on our servers.

Messages are protected by encryption while in transit. Please be aware that Uns Chat does not currently offer end-to-end encryption for messages. Please refer to our Security page for a detailed explanation of what this means for your privacy.

You are responsible for the content you choose to send and share through the service.

9 Intellectual Property

The Uns Chat application, including its software, design, branding, logos, and all related intellectual property, is owned by or licensed to [LEGAL_COMPANY_NAME] and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in the service, its branding, or any content on it other than Your Content. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the service or its software without our express written permission, except as permitted by applicable law.

10 User License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use Uns Chat on a personal device for your own non-commercial use.

This license does not include the right to:

modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application;
use the service for commercial purposes without our written consent;
transfer or sublicense your use of the service to any third party;
remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices on the application.

We may revoke this license at any time if you fail to comply with these Terms.

11 Third-Party Services

Uns Chat relies on a small number of third-party services to function. These include:

Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — to deliver push notifications;
Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — to deliver push notifications on iOS;
WebRTC — to enable peer-to-peer voice and video calls;
Apple App Store — for distribution and in-app purchases.

Each third-party service is governed by its own terms and privacy policies. We encourage you to review those documents. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services that you use independently of Uns Chat.

12 Service Availability

We strive to keep Uns Chat running reliably, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

We may, from time to time, modify, suspend, or discontinue certain features without prior notice.

13 Updates

We may release updates to the Uns Chat app from time to time to add features, fix issues, or improve performance. Some updates may be required to continue using the service.

The latest version of these Terms applies after each update. We encourage you to review the Terms periodically to stay informed about any changes.

14 Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or restrict your access to the service if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in conduct that could harm other users or the service, or if required by law.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of any suspension or restriction before or promptly after it takes effect, unless doing so would compromise a legal obligation or the safety of other users.

We may terminate your account if you repeatedly or seriously breach these Terms, or if the service is discontinued. Termination does not entitle you to any refund of fees, if applicable.

15 Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from within the app. When you delete your account, we will remove your personal data and account information from our active systems within a reasonable time frame.

Content you have sent to other users may remain visible to them after your account is deleted, as it has already been delivered. Messages and media stored on other users' devices are outside our control.

Backup copies of your data may persist temporarily in our backup systems and will be overwritten in the normal course of our data retention practices.

Account deletion is irreversible and cannot be undone.

16 Reporting Abuse

If you encounter content or behavior that violates these Terms, we encourage you to report it to us at [SUPPORT_EMAIL]. You can also use the reporting tools available within the app where applicable.

We take reports of abuse seriously and will review them promptly. We may not be able to act on every report, and we will not always be able to notify you of the outcome. We will, however, take steps to address violations we confirm.

We will not retaliate against anyone who reports abuse in good faith.

17 Copyright Complaints

We respect the intellectual property of others and expect our users to do the same. If you believe that content shared through Uns Chat infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to [LEGAL_EMAIL] containing:

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

We do not warrant that:

the service will meet your specific requirements;
the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free;
the results obtained from the service will be accurate or reliable;
any errors in the service will be corrected.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranties that cannot be legally excluded or limited under the laws of your jurisdiction.

19 Limitation of Liability
